MRT (Mediator Release Test) Food Sensitivity Test Results

WHY am I testing for food sensitivites?

Food sensitivities can make a person feel sick because of immune reactions to food and food additives. This is applicable to anyone looking to improve their physical appearance and/or performance because reactions such as this are an immune response and will lead to excess cortisol and inflammation in the body.

Eating foods you are sensitive to will cause bloating, indigestion, gas, and poor/slow digestion.

I will take you through my list of foods with proposed food sensitivities:

1) COLA – this is a weird one. I NEVER drink cola but this one offers the largest/worst reaction potential for me. It is listed as my only “RED” food. Meaning stay away!!

2) Blueberries – This could have to do with my eating a large amount of blueberries in my morning smoothies for the 2 weeks prior to the test. However, because the levels are so high, that may not be the case.

3) Celery – I hate celery. Never eat it. Thank god I’m allergic. Haha

4) CHICKEN – yup, chicken. Not a full blown allergy, but definitely a sensitivity. I called this one. The truth is I can eat 20oz of Beef, NO problem, I’m still hungry when I’m done. I try 6-8oz of chicken and I feel like I swallowed a watermelon.
I’ve started using turkey breast instead.

5) Coffee – I’m not a coffee drinker, but damn I love the smell. From time to time during contest prep I will have a coffee cause it’s a calorie free beverage that isn’t loaded with crappy sweeteners.

6) Eggplant – never eat it.

7) Grapefruit – Damn! I enjoy grapefruit and grapefruit juice. Ah well.

8) Grapes – I haven’t really eaten grapes since I was a kid. From time to time in the offseason I will have a few postworkout. Guess that’s done!

9) LEMON – Ahhhhh! My morning drink of choice. Lemon water. Lemons didn’t show a huge reaction but its recommended I cut them out for a month or so anyway.

10) Tomato – I do eat salsa and organic ketchup from time to time. This is gonna be a hard one to cut out offseason. WTH am I supposed to use as a condiment? Haha. I only use mustard pre contest.

***The only grain I Show very bad reactivity to is amaranth, which I am pretty sure I have never eaten in my life.
**I do have a known full reaction to gluten so I avoid it altogether. The reason that wouldn’t show up in this test is because this is testing for allergy mediators present in the blood. Full allergy markers are present inside the cells of muscle etc.

There are a few others that show reactivity but nothing I ever consume.

When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get three emails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove me from that service? Thank you!

  3. If you have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or high trigylcerides, grapefruit has been found to reduce the effects of these conditions. So which is better yellow or red grapefruit? Well, in a study made where people who had a history of high cholesterol, those that ate the red grapefruit had the most effect in lower their blood pressure. The yellow also lowered blood pressure but not as much as the red grapefruit.”
